Rinda over at her Gallo Organico blog is again running a Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt. I participated for the first time last year and we both had lots of fun looking for the photos that were part of the hunt. If you want to check it out please go here where she tells you all about it. Considering I didn't have any plans for taking pictures this past weekend it worked out pretty well. John decided to take Friday off and go to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum over at the Hamilton airport. They evidently had the only flying Mosquito in the world there for the weekend. Great - I can get some plane pictures! It turns out that with our Museum entrance that day we also got to see the rehearsal for Saturday & Sunday's airshow. Would you believe between the 2 of us we took over 630 pictures. Those 2 cameras were smoking. :) Now which airplane picture to share for the Hunt. Hmmm, how about one of only 2 Avro Lancasters in the world that still flies (the other one is in Britain) and the one here just happens to be part of the CWHM.
Ok, that's enough for planes. We looked all over for the control tower for a picture of it but it was on the opposite end of the airport from where we were. The closest thing we could find for a tower was the big radar dome in the background of the picture above. Somehow I don't think it classifies as a tower though, do you? I do have pictures of it by itself, well as by itself as you could get that day. :)
I did though find some fire engines.
So that covers #4 and #15 and possibly #8 but I don't think so.
Here's a possible substitution picture of a Snowbird pilot which I think symbolizes Canada.
I've erased his name, rank & snowbird position from the side of the cockpit -that's what the blobby white stuff is.
Saturday we were out shopping and as we were having some Iced Tea we noticed this sign on the back of one of the strollers the mall lends out. Really? They really have to tell people that? Anyway we thought it was kind of funny even though it's not meant to be. I'm thinking it qualifies for #7.
